There is an inherent desire in all humans to be the best at what they do. This creates two results. Either a human is good at whatever they try to be the best at and they begin to think they are better than everyone else or a human is not good at whatever they do and they begin to think everyone is better than them. It seems this desire to be the best is a form of human failure. A healthier option might be to just strive to be human. Some people might disagree and argue that if you don’t strive to be the best then you are giving up or lack the fortitude to actually be the best. I’m not sure this is valid because I doubt that anyone who is viewed as the “best” at whatever they do achieved what they achieved because they tried to be the “best.”
